air up rear mono shock? will it work?

bought a used yz125 and the mono shock was blown, i thought.... I read they had nitrogen in them (this one obviously empty)  so i aired it up(was going to buy a new one anyways) but its holding air and not leaking it out? maybe previous owner was a dummy and let the nitrogen out?? and the shock is still good??  the air makes it feal better could use a stronger air compressor though .. any thoughts..i've done front forks but have never messed with a rear mono shock

cO2 would been better then air, although your correct about the nitrogen (N2o).  A bit pricey rebuild kit for the shock is available, but aftermarket shocks/parts are as common as broken bones and mud covered stumps.
