Battery light comes on when I turn off the engine on Peugeot 206?

Hello, I have a question about my 2005 Peugeot 206 1.4 S petrol that I recently bought. My dashboard lights all seem to work fine, though  the battery light comes on always when I turn off the engine and before I remove the key. The light comes off as normal when I remove the key from the ignition. Anybody know whether this is normal? This did not happen on my previous car, which was a Toyota, so I wonder whether this is a Peugeot thing or whether something is wrong with my alternator or something.
