Depends on the state, and the budget of the department. Baltimore County in Maryland can do that through the MVA, but they can't use that confirm you ID.

They have lots of information on their laptop. However a picture would not necessarily be one of the things they have. If you have a criminal record & as such a mug shot on record then they could access that.

Well i think it depends on what state you live, in but I doubt they have the ability to do that in their cop car. People give cops wrong information and drivers license sometimes.

My ex-husband  was cop and still. I know how their system is running. defending on their laptop system. If Its a brand new laptop with high quality Identity checking program yes. most likely they show your most of all information,

most cop does not care about your pass ford. All they need is your prove of actual drivers license card with insurance card(some state or city cops does not asking at all about insurance card. because cops can check your insurance register information from their lap top's.what a smart ass high tech.....)

Reason of this case,  you should always carry your temporary registration DLC. Or your pass-ford. just for the in-case.

Depends on how sophisticated their computer systems are. The more sophisticated the systems are the more expensive they are. If they don't have these systems, then the information they pull up will only be text, not graphics or pictures. Some older systems are still monochrome- a black screen with either amber or green text only display- nothing like you are seeing on your laptops you use now.
But by running your SSN, the officer can get from dispatch all information from your license- height, weight, hair color, eyes, address & can question you on that information to see if you are telling the truth & who you say you are by the SSN you provided.
