It's not an engine that's meant to be tuned. I must advise against it. However you can always talk to local BMW performance shops and they might be able to hack something together for you.

Of course - but if you're talking about engine internals, you're looking at quite a lot of research/cost of parts, and obviously it requires a lot of care and specific torque specs.  I wouldn't recommend it unless you really know what you're doing.

If you're talking about a chip or things like that, those are readily available through most aftermarket part places.  Try bavauto.com - they're really good.

Yes, you could do some engine tuning to a 525i, but I think the tuning has already been done to the 2.5 litre engine as used in the 325i. Certainly the ride, chassis and suspension can be tuned in different ways, but the cost of such experimental ideas will never be justified. If you want improved engine performance and improved handling, then you had best switch to an M-5 which has already been tuned to the MAX.
