I'm not sure what the second part of your question is saying, but yes you can pull the codes off if your check engine light is on. You can either take it to a parts store, who can check it for you. Or you can buy a tester from a parts store and check it yourself.

Those cars are notorious for bad ECU's, have someone check to see if you have injector pulse. If not definitely computer problem.
