In my opinion the auto industry should be allowed to go under. It has outlived its usefulness. The industry is anchored with too much debt and programs.

the largest employer in Alabama is the Automotive industry, Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes. None of these companies are asking for help because they know how to run a business. I am sick and tired of the big 3 always wasting money and then expecting the govt to Bail their sorry butts out. My answer  is NO!!!!!!!

well i feel like we have to , i mean so many jobs will be lost , not just with the auto industry if it fails ,  but at the same time the industry its self has done this , and union workers are as much to blame , i mean come on they make more than most average americans as it is and are always on strike wanting more and more ,  and you know what else i think . how freakin ridiculous is it that some of the vehicles have become more expensive than some homes people live in , that is just greed . how much profit does a company feel like they must make ,  yes they did this to them self's

We pay taxes to the government so it keeps the country working. If we need to pay extra to do what's best for the country as a whole, we better do it if we want a country left to be proud of.

no because we are bailing out the UAW and other bloodsucking unions...not the auto industry....the average per hr wage, inculding benefits factored in is 75.00 an hr..across the board is about 35.00...no company can sustain that sort of drain on resources..LIFETIME PAID HEALTHCARE for over 400,000 people?...nope..no bailout

No, we won't be bailing out the auto industry...we will be bailing out the unions who crippled the American auto industry.  That bunch of thugs don't deserve hard working American's money!

I fail to understand HOW we can keep bailing everyone out, esp. since we are bailing with borrowed money.  Does anyone have any idea how much we now owe China?

No. The government should not get involved with a private industry.
