I'm 19 years old and I need a car to get me back and forth from work and school. However, I have no money for one and cannot afford a loan, my parents refuse to buy me mine, and I'm basically stuck!! =[

I really need a car soon because I'm going away to a college in an area with no public transportation. So if anyone has any suggestions for organizations that donate used cars in the Maryland/Washington, DC area, please let me know! thanks.

I'm sure there are some places in your area that donate used cars but it's usually only to single parent families struggling to make ends meet. I don't think they'll donate a car to a 19 year old. You're still young and healthy, they'll say "Can't you ride a bike" or "Save up some money" I really don't think there are any organizations that can help you. If you can't afford a car now then how will you afford the insurance, gas, repairs, etc.? There's not much you can do. Sorry

Welcome to the REAL WORLD!!  In order to get something, you have to work for it.

Go out and get a job.  You can buy an old beater on craigslist any time you want for $500.  Then you need a cash reserve for insurance, gas and maintenance.

In the meantime, ride a bike, walk or carpool with a friend.  If you choose the carpool option, you need to help pay for gas.  Since your going away to college, find a place close to campus so you don't need to drive.
