I took my malibu 2000 becasue is kept turning off on me so I sent it to get repaired and I paid 700 dollars to repair it. After they told me my car was done I took it home and found the same problem....my car is still turning off on me. They do not want to give me my money back...700 dollars is a lot of money...what can I do? I feel like they cheated me.

Two options come immediately to mind.  The first one is go back to the dealer that did the work and speak with the service manager.  If that doesn't work, go to the general manager and then to GM to have this resolved.

The second option is to go to another dealer and have them diagnose the car and give you a written estimate.  Then take that estimate back to the original dealer and ask them why that work wasn't performed ( or if the second dealer says the same thing is wrong with the car as diagnosed by the first dealer, ask them why the job wasn't done correctly the first time ).

The repair company  must have some kind of warranty for the work they performed.
Did they give you a copy of they work order?
I assume you spoke with the manager.

If they refuse to fix it then you can chose to have it fixed right and send them a  bill for it .
If they do not pay it you you can report the to the BBB.  Then take them to court.

Keep all documents and take pics if necessary.
It will take time, just stick with it.

you won't get your money back there are a number of things that can cause issues like this, if they diagnosed and replaced bad parts they did what you paid them to. all you can do is take it back (or to another shop) and have it diagnosed again. it can sometimes take 3 or more trips to get issues like this fixed unfortunately. it is sometimes a combination of several part failures they have to fix each set to find the next bad set. What they should have done was a good test drive to ensure that was the problem then re diagnosed continuing problem. The long and short is that they should not have given your car back until it was fixed. The bill would have been much higher for them to do it this way though.

So either you can keep pouring money into this problem or try to get rid of the car that won't run properly.  Good Luck

if you still have the receipt, go to your attorney and see where you stand legally. right there is 1 of the reasons i do my own work. you got that right, they cheated you allright and big time. you say it keeps shutting off on you, won,t idle? if you have no codes coming up, change the gas filter, it might be restricting the flow of fuel. if they won,t fix it or give your money back, tell the manager your going to put their name in every newspaper. they won,t like that, it hurts business.

keep taking it back until they fix it right and if you don't get any satisfaction call the chevrolet  complaint line in the back of your owners manual.
