I already have a crf230l which i want to sell and get a ninja 250. I dont stunt, i dont need alot of power. i just want something that picks up faster and has a top speed of atleast 100 (my crf tops out at 80). meaning it would accelerate faster making it easier to move with traffic. fast enough to keep up and powerful enough to get back up to speed is basically waht i want. my 230 is just too weak between 60-80mph to ride on the high way safely. thats my rant. NOW HELP ME! btw i have a pretty small budget and i DONT WANT ANTYIHNG TO HIGHT PERFORMANCE OR HEAVY.  sumthin little and sporty is good for me. no desire to upgrade all that much. thx
"why the hell would you wanna go 100" its not the top thats important. its how fast i can accelerate between 60-80 HIGHWAY SPEEDS for moving around in traffic comfortably and safely.. higher top speed means it struggles less in the range i want.

i thought about the 500 but if i did that iw as gonna go on and get a CBR600. plus i hate how the ninja500 looks lol.

What in the hell do you need to go 100 mph for? The Ninja is a good bike for what it is, if you want more top end change the gearing. Keep it out of the triple.

What about a Ninja 500?  It will give you the power you seek but still small enough for you to be comfortable.

A Kawasaki Ninja 250 is a good little bike. It is classified as a Superbike, but doesn't have speed a bigger bike of that type does. But if you want a bike like that and don't want to pay that much I found one at a place called Joes, which used to be known as G. I. Joes called the Baja 250 and cost about $2,000 and has great gas milages and reasonable speed. It is like the Ninja but cost much less.

Yes,and yes! the little kawi will hit 150 Kph toped out. It sounds awesome in stock form and ppl will not know you are on the small one without really looking close! expect to pay 3000$ to 3400$ for a new one.

I've rode the 250R, 500R and currently have the 650R.

The 250R is shaky on freeway and you'll get knocked around. it'll be better for local street riding, but that's not to say it can't do some freeway. Just not all the time cuz it gets pretty weak when you want to ride freeway. Bought used '04 yellow one for $2600, put 1300 miles on it and sold it for $2575. Not bad for resale.

500R is better, but I felt it was heavier and not as nimble. The design is pretty old, but it is significantly faster than the 250R. Bought OTD for $5k.

I have the 650R and it is very stable at freeway speeds. It picks up and goes pretty nice. Plenty of power for the street. Mileage I get around 42-58 mpg depending on what type of roads I ride highway or local. The handling is much better than both the 250R and 500R. I think because it has a narrow engine and has better suspension. I paid $6k OTD for that though. You may be able to find a used one for $5k now.

the ninja 250 is good for 2 things it's cheap to buy and gets excellent gas millage.  i suggest nothing less then a 600 of any bike company for you will out grow the 250 ninja  by the time you leave the parking lot. the bigger bikes go faster at start and top end .they look better. and have a better resale value.

the 250 sounds about right for what you want but buzzing along the freeway wont be it's strong point, the er650 i think it's just called ninja 650 in the states would be very strong on the freeway and easy to keep a safe pace without being to intimidating and it's not too big either
